AN OBSERVATIONAL STUDY OF BACTERIOLOGICAL PROFILE OF REFERRED NEONATES ADMITTED IN ATERTIARY CARE CENTER OF NORTH INDIA

A prospective observational study was conducted in a neonatal unit of referral teaching hospital North India with an aim to the bacteriological profile and sensitivity pattern referred neonates. During this period one year, incidence culture positive sepsis 34 % among which gram-negative bacilli predominated both early onset late sepsis. In sepsis, predominant organism Klebsiella pneumoniae followed by Staph aureus Acinetobacter. most common again Acinetobacter, Candida, E. coli. Sensitivity isolated outcome newborns are presented.
